Gentle Yoga focuses on inner awareness of the body through breath and conscious movement, relaxing muscles, and the mind into poses, while learning to listen to one’s individual needs. Guiding people into becoming aware of the unique needs of their own body, this Gentle class uses the classic asanas/poses of yoga, while offering stretching and strengthening appropriate for those new to yoga, and for those coming back after a break, or who have had an injury, helping participants get back to a healthier self through this gentle, therapeutic, and restorative class.

Helena has studied and taught Yoga for over 50 years. Her yoga journey began in London, and she then received her yoga teacher’s certificate through the Sivananda Ashram in Canada where she lived from 1970-71 training with Swami Vishnudevananda, author of The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga. Her teaching comes mainly from that Sivananda method but incorporates other styles from her continued yoga studies over the years. She taught and did healing energy work for many years at Yoga Works and at Soul at Home studio in Tustin and has worked helping those people in the recovery community find new direction of their lives and find a way to wholeness. In her business – Inner Rhythms Healing Arts – she consults with Bach Flower Essences, the healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu and facilitates Family and Identity Development Constellation Workshops. She has certification in all these modalities.
